MONTHLY / BI-MONTHLY PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE
The following services will be performed once a month or twice a month if desired.
Workstations
- Thorough hard disk drive space analysis - You will be aware of whether your computer
is able to handle installation of additional software or capable of saving your data to the hard disk.
- Service Pack / Security update support - You will have confidence that your system is running with the latest Service pack release and Security updates available to avoid software incompatibilities & plug security holes.
- Hard disk cleanup - Free up space on your hard drive by removal of all the "junk" files that take up valuable space.
- Virus scan & Definition file update - Help avoid losing valuable information, having system crashes and errors, or losing valuable productivity from viruses. We will verify that your virus protection software is up to date and perform a complete scan of the system.
- Software system evaluation and System cleanup - Removing old, unused, unneeded or partially
removed software will increase system performance and stability.
- Network/Internet Speed & Integrity Check - Lost data packets cause data corruption, data
corruption causes downtime. We will test each workstations network speed and integrity.
Servers
Includes all of the above workstation tasks in addition to the following:
- Back up analysis, review, and test on the server - You have a back up, but have you tested the data to make sure everything is working in case of that emergency? Bad tapes can cause corrupted data without you even being aware of it.
- Event Log Monitoring - System, Application, & Security logs will be reviewed to determine system stability
BI-ANNUAL PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE
The following services will be performed every 6 months along with regular monthly tasks.
Workstations & Servers
- Complete physical cleaning of your computer inside and out - Your computer will stay free of excessive dust and grime buildup that causes component failure.
- Power supply voltage and fan check - You can prevent untimely system failure due to potential short circuit damage and overheating.
- Complete internal hardware diagnostics - We will isolate components that may not be running at their proper performance or reliability level, PLUS you will receive a pass / fail report for future reference. We will also verify all cables and cards are seated properly.
- Network Benchmarking - A computer network can be a very confusing and technically challenging tool of business. Due to that fact, it can be difficult to diagnose and solve problems without sophisticated tools. With this in mind, we have developed a network-benchmarking plan. Xfone Network Services technicians bring to your site, a sophisticated computer system that contains highly specialized software. The system is installed as a workstation on your network and is then allowed to monitor and record system performance and traffic. This data is then used to set a baseline by which to measure future changes and possibly detect problems relating to the network infrastructure.
Printers
- Local printer cleaning - This allows you to maintain the highest quality in your printing and also helps to prolong the life of your printer.
- Verify cooling fans are operable
